When buying a home it is important to understand the price range that is right for you.
The first step is to contact a mortgage company or bank to determine the amount you can borrow to purchase a home as well as the amount needed for down payment and closing costs. Once they review your information they can provide you with a pre-approval letter. With this pre-approval letter in hand you will have a stronger position when making an offer to purchase a home. The Seller will know that you are serious and that you have an accurate estimate of the mortgage you qualify for.
